内容如下:
Dear applicant,
Thank you for your interest in our programme, Master of Science in Engineering.
After reviewing your application and supporting documents, our department recommends providing a conditional offer for you. Your application is currently being vetted by the Registry and the Faculty of Engineering. You will receive a conditional offer of admission letter from the Faculty of Engineering if your application and supporting documents have passed the vetting system.
However, you are required to provide the officially certified degree certificate(s) and transcript(s) of your graduate and undergraduate studies (transcripts not in English should be accompanied by a certified translation in English) and an official score report on an English language proficiency test. According to University regulations, applicants who seek admission on the basis of a qualification from a university or a comparable institution outside Hong Kong in which the medium of instruction and/or examinations is not English are required to obtain:
- a score of 550 or above (paper-based test), or 80 or above (internet-based) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)) (note 2); or
- a minimum overall band of 6 with no subtest lower than 5.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or
- Grade C or above in the Overseas General Certificate of Education (GCE); or
- Grade C or above in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE); or
- Grade C or above in the Cambridge Test of Proficiency in English Language
unless in exceptional circumstances applicants are exempted from this requirement.
In case of doubt, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide evidence, such as a formal letter from his/her school, to confirm that the medium of instruction for the programme he/she attended was English.
An official copy can be either the original or a certified true copy. For students from Mainland China, an official copy of the Bachelorˇs degree certificate is also required. The University will only ACCEPT the originals of documents or copies of them that have been duly declared as true copies by a notary public (e.g. a Commissioner for Oaths at a City District Office in Hong Kong). You may also bring the originals of documents together with their photocopies to the Academic Services Office (UG05 Knowles Building) or the Faculty Office. Copies of documents may be certified by the appropriate officials of your home institution if you are an overseas applicant. No photocopies will be accepted.
