Personal Statement for HKU
Coming from No.2 Middle School Attached to the East China Normal University, I have always longed for being enrolled by a university that has an international outlook. Now I firmly believe that Hongkong University is the very one in which I can show myself.

As the most historic education institution in Hongkong ,HKU gives me a feeling of excellence, while the slogan of my middle high school is ’To pursue excellence and advocate innovation’. I myself have also taken ‘Follow excellence’ as my motto. So I took Chemistry Competition courses when I was in grade one. It really needs great diligence to learn advanced Chemistry knowledge, and I have to take lessons even during summer or winter vacations. Luckily, finally I made it and won the first prize in CChO Shanghai Test, and gloriously I was chosen into the Shanghai CChO Delegation Selection. Unfortunately I missed the chance of competing in the final test but I would never regret having learned the Chemistry Competition courses,

The Science Faculty in HKU is an ideal place for those who want to devote themselves into scientific researches and the Department of Chemistry enjoys a great influence in the world. Considering my knowledge background and personal interest, I believe I can develop better if admitted to the Science Faculty in HKU.

At the same time, computer application is also my interest. From an early age, I started to develop my interest into computer application using and now I have gained a basic command of Flash video making, website designing, VB programming and NLE video cutting. Rather than feeling frustrated, I motivate myself more when facing problems. And probably that’s why I never find it boring to do programming works. In fact, my most proud experience was that I designed and established the official website for my father’s company. Therefore, the Computer Engineering in the Engineering Faculty is also a good choice for me.

One of the most attractive features of HKU is its colorful school culture. The various society groups and ‘Hall Culture’ are so fascinating. In high school I joined our school studio and was selected to be the director. A year of management made me more mature and capable. I think the most important is your passion. Our stop-motion animation work ‘A Story in the CChO Class’(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4f7mCO_znk) finally won the ‘Golden Calf Prize – Most Innovative’, but seldom do audience notice that we’ve taken nearly 1500 pictures and have spent 4 months to finish the huge task. But it was really a unique experience in my high school life.

Now I have a clear plan of my future. My dream is to contribute to the world knowledge base and to make more and more people benefitted from my work. With the motto of HKU, Sapientia Et Virtus, I think I can realize my dream easier.

Standing high on the hill is this vigorous and calm university. Although it looks high and far, still I believe I can get to its top, because I have never stopped pursuing towards it.

1，grammar有些不对 像是chemistry competition courses后那几句应该用past tense.如i have to take lessons这些，I think the most important is your passion. 没有了noun，seldom do audience应该是does
感觉错得颇严重

3，字词可以用些较难的字
